LawHelpNY.org is excited to announce the launch of its New York City Housing Mini-Portal. With a focus on non-payment proceedings, the resources are designed to help the 99% of tenants who navigate NYC Housing Court without an attorney.
The new mini-portal includes:
- An interactive step-by-step timeline outlining the key steps in a non-payment case.
- Checklists to help guide litigants with documents needed to prepare for housing court and spot red flags in settlement negotiations and stipulations.
- Rent Demand Basics to address questions about non-payment of rent and rent assistance options.
We invite you to use the resources and share them with your networks so we can empower people who are navigating through the legal system on their own.
If you have any suggestions or comments on the content, contact Quisquella Addison, LawHelpNY.org program director, at info@nylawhelp.org.
We extend our deepest thanks to the many organizations that collaborated to make this project happen: Pro Bono Net, Legal Services NYC, LawNY, NYS Courts Access to Justice Program, Housing Court Answers, University Settlement and funding from LSC TIG and the New York Community Trust.
