Who We Are

The Legal Aid Society is a private, not-for-profit legal services organization, the oldest and largest in the nation, dedicated since 1876 to providing quality legal representation to low-income New Yorkers. It is dedicated to one simple but powerful belief: that no New Yorker should be denied access to justice because of poverty.

Services Offered include Housing (landlord-tenant and foreclosure related matters), Government Benefits, Family law and Consumer law matters.

For advice or representation regarding domestic violence related immigration law, employment law, health law, HIV-AIDS, homeless rights, immigration law, or tax matters, please visit our Civil Practice home page at www.legalaidnyc.org.
