Who We Are

Since 1967, our programs in Brooklyn have sought equal justice for low-income people in by providing a broad range of legal advocacy and information.

In pursuing this goal, our offices work with individual clients and client groups to

  • identify and address their legal needs
  • empower low-income people to identify and defeat the causes and effects of poverty in their communities
  • focus on matters that will have the greatest impact for low-income people
  • work in partnership with the private bar and with other agencies and organizations serving low-income people

We are offering remote legal assistance in all civil legal service areas. New Yorkers who need civil legal assistance may call LSNYC’s Access Line at (917) 661-4500, Mon-Fri from 10am-4pm. Existing clients may call or email their advocates at their direct phone numbers.
