Who We Are

Manhattan Legal Services provides free legal services in civil matters to low-income residents of Manhattan who are not able to afford the cost of a private attorney. The HIV/AIDS Unit provides legal representation, advice and referrals to people living with HIV and AIDS on a variety of civil matters including housing, disability benefits, public assistance benefits, discrimination, confidentiality violations, and other issues. All services are confidential. HIV/AIDS Unit staff is available to present workshops on legal issues of concern to people living with HIV/AIDS, their caretakers and service providers.

We are offering remote legal assistance at this time. New Yorkers who need assistance may call LSNYC’s Access Line at (917) 661-4500, Mon-Fri from 10am-4pm. Existing clients may call or email their advocates at their direct phone numbers.
