Who We Are

Queens Legal Services (QLS) fights poverty and seeks racial, social and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers. Our attorneys and advocates provide free civil legal services in many areas, including:

  • Housing Rights (landlord/tenant, tenant group representation, evictions and repairs)
  • Homeowner & Consumer Rights (foreclosure defense, housing discrimination and debt)
  • Education Rights (including school discipline, special education)
  • Family Law/Domestic Violence (DV counseling and legal assistance) 
  • Public Benefits & Food Security (SNAP, Medicaid, cash assistance)
  • Immigration Advocacy (naturalization, immigration applications, asylum & removal)
  • Disability Advocacy (SSI/SSD appeals, disability discrimination)
  • LGBT and HIV Advocacy
  • Taxpayer Rights 
  • Veterans' Justice
  • Unemployment Insurance Appeals

We are offering remote legal assistance in all civil legal service areas. New Yorkers who need civil legal assistance may call LSNYC’s Access Line at (917) 661-4500, Mon-Fri from 10am-4pm. Existing clients may call or email their advocates at their direct phone numbers.
