If your job is impacted by domestic violence, you may qualify for Unemployment Insurance benefits. To qualify:

  1. You must have lost or quit your job due to domestic violence, providing proof of the threat to your safety or that of your family.

  2. You need to have earned sufficient wages during the base period before filing your claim, typically the first four of the last five completed calendar quarters.

  3. You must be ready, willing, and able to work, actively seeking employment while claiming benefits. Documentation of job search efforts is required. If unable to work due to domestic violence, disability, or COVID-19, alternative options like disability claims or public assistance may be available.
