Human trafficking is more common than we realize.

Human trafficking is in fact modern day slavery.  Researchers have found that there are more human slaves in the world today than ever before in history.  There are an estimated 27 million adults and 13 million children around the world who are victims of human trafficking.  Take a few minutes to learn more about what human trafficking is and how to help the victims.

Who are the victims of human trafficking?

It is usually women and children who are forced into:

  • Prostitution and other sex acts
  • Slavery or involuntary servitude
  • Debt bondage

The U.S. government allows special protections and benefits for victims of human trafficking and there are organizations in New York that can help victims access this free help.
