Access Justice Brooklyn provides free legal help for low-income residents of Brooklyn facing the following legal issues:

  • If you are being sued by a creditor in Kings County Civil Court If you need help filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy
  • If you have a pending child support, visitation or custody case in Kings County Family Court
  • If you need help getting guardianship of an intellectually or developmentally disabled person
  • If you are facing foreclosure and you are a homeowner If you need to draft a will, power of attorney or healthcare proxy
  • If you are an 1199SEIU member in New York City or the immediate relative of an 1199SEIU member who recently passed away, and need help with a will, power of attorney, or healthcare proxy
  • If you are a Brooklyn resident in need of probate assistance for an estate of $50,000 or less, or an NYC resident who has lost a family member due to COVID-19 and needs similar help-
