The Legal Hand Call-In Center of the Capital Region

The Legal Hand Call-In Center of the Capital Region is a virtual center offering free legal information, resources, referrals, and help with legal forms via phone, text, and email. Trained Volunteers work with a Center Attorney to ensure accuracy. While we don’t provide legal counsel or representation, we assist with a wide range of civil legal issues and refer to other services when needed. Areas of support include Housing, Family, Elder/Estate, Public Benefits, Immigration, Survivor Services, Employment, Consumer Law, Mental Health, and general community resources.

We are a virtual Center and we cannot provide in-person services. However, mail may be sent to 144 Barrett Street, Schenectady NY, 12304.

Eligibility Criteria/Important Information:

• We ask our Visitors to agree to a Visitor Agreement that explains what we can and can’t do. If we assist with a form, we have a Form Agreement that will need to be signed.
• All of our services are free and we have no financial barriers– we help everyone.
• We cannot provide legal representation or legal advice.
• We only require an individual’s first name, county and zip code to help them.
• We do not have a physical location.
• We do not ask about an individual’s immigration status.
