Veronica N. Dunlap, Esq., MBA, New York Program Director

Veronica N. Dunlap, is the New York Program Director at Pro Bono Net where she spearheads LawHelpNY and related technology initiatives that empower New Yorkers in need to resolve their legal problems and strengthen the work of advocates serving them. In addition, she is a volunteer attorney with NYCLA on a project aimed at restoring the civil rights of people with criminal convictions. Prior to joining PBN, Veronica served as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at the National Network for Safe Communities at John Jay College where she designed and implemented projects that aimed to reduce bias in policing, and managed communications and digital strategies. Before law school, Veronica performed on stages around the world as a classically trained dancer. She is a proud graduate of both George Washington University, where she received a B.A. in International Affairs and Fordham University School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor & M.B.A. in Finance. Veronica received the 2016 Heroine of Excellence Award for her work in social justice advocacy, and is a 2017 Council of Urban Professionals Fellow. Further, Veronica received the 2019 New York County Lawyer’s Association Pro Bono Honors Award for her dedication to public service and the 2020 Outstanding Woman Lawyer in Public Service Award from the National Bar Association. vdunlap@probono.net

Tim Baran, Technology Innovations Manager

Tim joined LawHelpNY in June 2018. His two-decade journey in the legal space has taken him from the Federal Courts to Law Firm Library Director to Legal Tech Ambassador to Legal Marketing. He works closely with legal services and community based organizations, and manages initiatives that leverage technology and LawHelpNY’s online resources to expand access to legal assistance for low-income and vulnerable communities and strengthen collaboration within the civil justice sector in New York. His LawHelpNY work with Pro Bono Net engages his passion for access to justice and love of community. He’s an avid podcaster - listening and hosting - but please don’t hold that against him. Tim likes to travel but loves coming back to Manhattan, his home for more than 20 years. tbaran@probono.net 

Wantee Ramkaran, Senior Program Associate for New York Programs

Wantee joined LawHelpNY in May 2020 as a LiveHelp Program Associate. She received her J.D. from Touro College, Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2020, and B.A. in Political Science from Queens College, City University of New York in 2017. As a law student, Wantee began volunteering with LawHelpNY in October 2017. As a LiveHelp volunteer, Wantee found her passion for using her law degree to assist disadvantaged individuals in our community and expanding legal access to justice. She is grateful for the opportunity to begin her law career at LawHelpNY. wramkaran@probono.net

Dennis Brink, Community Support Associate

Dennis joined LawHelpNY as an Americorps Vista Volunteer in August 2018, and completed his third consecutive term of service in August 2021. Upon completion of his third Vista term Dennis joined LawHelp NY as a permanent staff member. Dennis offers administrative support for the LiveHelp program, assisting staff with volunteer recruitment, management, and overall program expansion. He further assists with specialized program data research and provides assistance with grant administration. He graduated from Arcadia University in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Global Legal Studies and a minor in International Studies. Dennis is currently based out of Pittsburgh, PA, where he is currently pursuing a masters of science in Public Policy and Management, from Carnegie Mellon's Heinz College of information Systems and Technology. dbrink@probono.net
