Nassau Suffolk Law Services - The Education and Disability Rights Project
Who We Are
Nassau Suffolk Law Services is a nonprofit, public interest law firm that provides free legal assistance in civil matters to low income and disabled Long Islanders. The primary mission of the Education and Disability Rights Project (EDRP), is to assist income-eligible families in protecting the education rights of students with disabilities.
Our representation includes attendance at Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings, Resolution Session, Impartial Hearing and appeals to the State Review Office.
In addition, we help income-eligible individuals of all ages in the negotiation and appeal of adverse eligibility decisions pertaining to disability-related services/programs, including programs funded through the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), and we also advocate for effective life transitions for individuals with disabilities.
