It is against the law in New York for someone to share intimate (private) images or videos of you without your consent. You can take legal steps against them and they can be fined or convicted of a crime.
Contact an advocate or lawyer if:
- Someone shares or threatens to share intimate images or videos to harm you (emotionally, financially, or physically);
- You can identify yourself directly in the intimate images or videos or from conversation surrounding the images or videos;
- Someone shares the intimate images or videos knowing that they were meant to be private or shared them without your permission.
Collect evidence with screenshots and details.
