  • $77,226 for a family of 2
  • $95,396 for a family of 3

Can I choose who takes care of my child?

You can hire someone you know—like a family member, neighbor, or friend—to take care of your child or children. The state can help pay if this person signs up to become a "legally exempt provider."  You need to fill out the forms together. call/visit your local DSS office for the forms

How do I apply?

You need to contact your local Department of Social Services office and ask for a “child care assistance” application. Once you submit the application, in most cases, you should hear back within 45 days. If your application is approved, it will take approximately 6-8 weeks to begin receiving payment.
