If you received a notice saying that your Medicaid is ending because you didn't complete your renewal forms, you need to act quickly. You must renew every year to keep your coverage.
This guide from Legal Services NYC explains two key steps to take right away:
- Request a fair hearing immediately, before the end date on your notice if possible (you have 60 days total). Doing this before the end date helps keep your coverage while you work on your renewal. You can request a hearing online at otda.ny.gov/hearings or by phone at 800-342-3334. After requesting the hearing, ask for copies of your case files.
- Complete and submit your Medicaid renewal within 90 days of your end date. If you don't have your renewal form, you can call the Medicaid Helpline (1-888-692-6116), visit a local office, or try to access it through Access HRA online.
